"KALEIDOSCOPING"
The Sparxx approach to idea generation turns typical brainstorming sessions upside down and inside out to break through the clutter, spark connections and create powerful ideas, concepts and strategies.

For this to happen, we took a look at some common pitfalls of traditional brainstorming sessions and "smashed" them like a bug.  Here are a few typical scenarios that we found needed to be smashed:
  •  Presentation Overload …80% of the session is spent listening to presentations and 20% of the time (usually at the end of the session) is devoted to ideation. The good news is that some of that information in the presentations can be really thought-provoking and inspire creativity. The downside is that people are worn out, forgot what they heard, are unengaged, are down right bored and possibly snoozing.
  •  Creativity on demand. . . No presentations, no grounding…"let’s just get together and wham, bam capture a list of all our ideas!" The good news is that you can quickly create a long list of ideas. The downside is that these are the exact same ideas that were on the list from last year’s session and you still don’t feel like you have something strong enough to move forward.
So how do WE see things differently?

Recognizing the average adult attention span is 15-20 minutes at best (some research shows as little as 7 seconds!), combined with the fact that in order for people to create they need to be actively engaged (not just passively listening, but true hands on…full brain engagement), we design each session around a "Kaleidoscoping" Flow.  Kaleidoscoping is an experiential and multi-faceted process that enables teams to work collaboratively.,..sparking connections that inspire and fuel your team's collective creativity.

Kaleidoscoping  Flow (Key Elements)

1. Stimulus Sparks
something to inspire the team such as an excursion, an interactive presentation, a role play, a prework assignment, etc.
2.  Deepen Connections
a chance for participants to dive into the stimulus and connect with it via conversation, journaling, modeling...
3.  Ideation Tool/Activity
an opportunity to "dig in and work" with the stimulus via an ideation activity we design from our vast ideation toolbox to help your team s-t-r-e-t-c-h to new places
4. Creating Starter Ideas
with minds abuzz and in full creative mode, teams capture a multitude of seedling ideas as they emerge
5.  Selecting (& sharing) the Best
teams select and build upon their favorite starters as they prepare to share them with the broader group

Now that you have a sense of the process, imagine what it would look and feel like to be working with small groups of 3-4...experiencing this process in multiple rounds…each time working with new people…using new stimulus… and a new ideation tool to spark fresh connections.

You will find that as your team engages in these multiple rounds that you will experience and see things much differently. Similar to when you shift the lens of a kaleidoscope, in each round your team will view the opportunities at hand in a fresh way and bring this entirely new view together to create amazing ideas and unforeseen possibilities.
